We went through the Shopify App Store’s apparel virtual try-on category and pulled every listing’s actual pricing, review count and launch date directly from the live pages. Not from a roundup. Not from a vendor’s own comparison page. From the App Store itself, on 24–25 August 2026.
Disclosure, since post 1 was about exactly this problem: we build a competing product. This table is the same data any merchant can pull themselves — we’re publishing it because nobody else has, not because we come out looking best in it. We don’t.
How many apparel try-on apps are actually on the Shopify App Store?
Around twenty, and the category is young and unstable. Of the apps we checked directly, most have zero reviews, and the large majority launched within the past twelve months. Only two of the apps we verified — Antla and Icona — have double-digit review counts.
That’s worth sitting with before you evaluate any single app on its merits. This isn’t a mature category with an established leader. It’s a land rush, and a listing with zero reviews launched three months ago tells you almost nothing about whether the product actually works at scale.

Full pricing details, credit rollover policies and overage rates change often enough that we’re not reproducing every line here — the table above is what we verified directly; go to the listing itself before you budget against it.
† GenLook has two live App Store listings under the same developer name, with different numbers — one matching the row above, another showing 5.0/3 reviews and different pricing. We couldn’t determine which is canonical. Open both before you rely on either.
Newer, unreviewed entrants we also found active on the App Store as of this pass, not yet in the table above: Reality Try, Tryly, Nivera, a second “Try It On” listing from a different developer, AI Stylist, AI Virtual Try-On by EdgeCloud, and Smart Fashion Visualizer. Expect this list to be out of date within weeks — that’s the nature of the category right now, not a gap in our research.
What the pattern actually tells you
Entry tiers cluster around $8–$20 for 50–200 renders. Mid tiers cluster around $30–$50 for 200–500. Top tiers cluster around $99–$150 for 1,000–1,500. Credit allowances vary far more between apps than the sticker price does — compare cost per render, not the monthly number.
Two things jump out once you line the real numbers up side by side, rather than reading one listing at a time.
Garu is priced like an enterprise tool with no enterprise track record. $199 and $399 monthly tiers, zero reviews, launched three months before this table was pulled. That’s not necessarily wrong — pricing ahead of proof is a legitimate strategy — but it’s worth knowing you’d be an early adopter at enterprise pricing.
AURA is the cheapest entry point in the table, and the only French-native listing. LéoC, based in Paris, launched in April 2026, priced from $7.99. Zero reviews yet, but worth watching if you’re evaluating in France specifically — it’s positioned on GDPR and “photos not stored” language directly in its listing.
Review counts don’t track launch date in the way you’d expect. OnYou launched in January 2025 — over a year before this table — and has 5 reviews at a 3.4 rating. Antla launched seven months later and has 50 reviews at 5.0. Time on the App Store alone doesn’t predict traction.
What to actually do with this table
Don’t pick the highest-rated app and stop there. Five-star ratings on a handful of reviews are close to meaningless statistically — read what the reviews actually say, not just the number. Do the credit math against your own product page traffic, using the adoption range we covered in our statistics audit (15–25% of PDP visitors, from the one public figure we could find), not the vendor’s suggested tier. Ask each vendor directly about the questions their listing pages don’t answer: what happens to a customer’s photo after the render, whether generated images are marked as AI-generated per the EU AI Act’s Article 50, and what happens to your data if you cancel.
We didn’t put ourselves in this table. We’re building toward a different starting point — occasion first, catalogue-aware, try-on as the last step rather than the first — and we think that’s a different enough product that a straight price-per-render comparison wouldn’t be honest to either side. If you want to see it, the beta details are on our site.
